Chairman of the Union of Mothers of the Kherson region Alina Shamray became a deputy of the Kherson regional Duma. The decision to empower the public woman was made by the regional electoral commission, the administration of the Kherson region reported.

At the meeting of the regional election commission, legal procedures were completed and Alina Shamray was handed a parliamentary certificate giving the right to work in the regional legislative body.

In the regional Duma, the new deputy will focus on the social block: protecting the interests of families with children, motherhood and childhood, as well as developing specialized institutions and distributing targeted assistance to needy residents.
