"Special Cable" has developed an optical cable that keeps the signal in an emergency up to three hours. Details were announced by the Minister of the Government of Moscow, head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the City of Moscow Anatoly Garbuzov.
“About 20 enterprises of the cable and wire industry provide products to key sectors of the economy: energy complex, transport, telecommunications, construction and the space industry,” commented Anatoly Garbuzov.
And he added that companies are constantly improving products, creating reliable and safe solutions. The new fire-resistant optical cable transmits a signal of 180 minutes in an emergency, providing fire protection.
The three-hour operation of the cable in extreme conditions is ensured by steel corrugated armor, which protects the internal elements from high temperature and mechanical damage.
Chief designer and head of the development department of the Spetskabel plant Roman Kuznetsov said that the new cable will expand the range of the enterprise and is intended primarily for the Moscow metro, fire-resistant cable lines and other systems with increased security requirements. It can be laid in tunnels, collectors, sewers, trays and blocks - inside and outside buildings, which allows it to be used in different conditions.
The cable is also suitable for data transmission in large optical networks, video surveillance and monitoring of promotional facilities.
