Archbishop sanctifies icon created by artificial intelligence
In Novolukoml of Vitebsk region on October 11, Archbishop-Emerit of Minsk-Mogilev Tadeusz Kondrusevich consecrated the chapel of St. Francis of Assisi and the icon of St. Carlo Akutis

In Novolukoml, Vitebsk region, on October 11, Archbishop-Emerit of Minsk-Mogilev Tadeusz Kondrusevich consecrated the chapel of St. Francis of Assisi and the icon of St. Carlo Akutis. This was reported by the official portal of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus.
The icon was created using artificial intelligence technology. The rector of the parish of St. Mary Magdalene, Nicholas of Lip, at the ceremony called Francis and Carlo Acoutis “true brothers in spirit”, despite the fact that they lived in different eras.
According to Xenza, St. Francis left earthly wealth in the Middle Ages to discover the beauty of God in every flower, tree and creation. And Saint Carlo Acoutis, a contemporary and patron of the Internet and youth, used computers and the digital world to show humanity that the Holy Eucharist is the only “highway to heaven.”.
The rector thanked the creators of the icon: industrial engineer Dmitry Kulpanovich, designer Andrei Kabanov and photographer Viktor Veden. Archbishop Kondrusevich told the parishioners a biography of the “saint in jeans and sneakers” canonized in 2025, who died in 2006 at the age of 15.
The icon size of 140 by 290 centimeters is stylized under a picturesque canvas. It shows a teenager with a laptop. It symbolizes his mission to spread faith through the Internet.
The priest of the Russian Orthodox Church called three alarming signs that, in his opinion, can remind of biblical prophecies: frequent natural disasters, cooling of faith and the spread of false prophets. He urged believers not to panic, noting that such warnings are needed for spiritual vigilance, not intimidation.
