Astrakhan region improved its position in the National Quality of Life Rating
The region now ranks 59th out of 85.

For the first time, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) has published an analytical report covering the five-year dynamics of the quality of life in Russian regions. The study is based on the results of the National Rating.
In 2026, 41 subjects of the country managed to improve their positions, and the Astrakhan region was among the regions with the most noticeable growth. The leaders of last year remain Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Tyumen region. However, the Astrakhan region rose to 59th place out of 85, improving the result by 15 positions at once.
According to the press service of the Governor of the Astrakhan region, the report for the first time collected the dynamics of indicators in five years in 12 areas – from health and education to infrastructure and transport. Among the main results: the expectation of social services decreased from a month to five days – by 6.5 times. The waiting time for planned hospitalization, the gap between regions in the availability of broadband Internet and the discrepancy in the share of the road network of agglomerations in the normative state have been reduced twice.
The national quality of life rating has been conducted since 2021 on behalf of the President of Russia. He assesses the work of the executive branch in creating a comfortable living environment and reducing gaps between regions.
