Astrakhan schoolchildren warned about the danger of recruitment in social networks
In Astrakhan, transport police officers held a preventive meeting with students of school No. 51

In Astrakhan, transport police officers held a preventive meeting with students of school No. 51. In the library for youth named after B. Shakhovskaya, 20 teenagers were told about safety on the railway, threats of recruitment via the Internet and criminal liability for extremism and sabotage at transport facilities.
The meeting was organized by employees of the Astrakhan Linear Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on transport. Instead of a regular lecture, the police asked the students to discuss the situations that teenagers may face in everyday life.
One of the main topics was railway safety. The inspectors explained why it is dangerous to take pictures near moving trains, cross tracks in the wrong places and use headphones near the railway.
Police said the train could not be stopped immediately. Due to the large braking distance, the driver may not have time to prevent an impact, even if he notices a person on the tracks.
Students told about recruitment through messengers
A separate part of the meeting was devoted to the threats that teenagers may face in social networks and instant messengers.
Transport police officers explained how to recognize attempts to engage in extremist activities and commit sabotage. Particular attention was paid to the risk of recruiting minors for illegal actions at transport infrastructure facilities.
Students were also told about criminal liability for such crimes. Depending on the composition and circumstances of the act committed, the legislation provides for long terms of imprisonment, and for certain especially serious crimes life imprisonment is possible.
The meeting was held in the format of an open dialogue. Students asked police officers questions, discussed specific life situations and figured out how to act in case of danger.
The preventive event was attended by 20 students of Astrakhan secondary school No. 51.
