August gave the Kostroma region two owners of rare names

The registry office of the Kostroma region summed up the results of nominal statistics for August. In the last month of summer, parents showed a craving for rare but sonorous classic names.

According to registration records, only one newborn girl received the name Alla. The name Anatoly was given to a boy.

Experts note that these names are not included in the top popular ratings of the region. Every year, only 2-3 families choose the name Alla for their daughters, and about 5 families choose the name Anatoly.

Each of these names has a deep history. The female name Alla has several versions of origin: from the ancient Greek “other”, Gothic “masteress” or the Arabic name of the goddess Allat.

The male name Anatoly came from the Greek language ("Anatole" - East) and translates as "Eastern". The Registry Office congratulates parents on the birth of children.
