Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin and Minister of Industry of Belarus Andrei Kuznetsov discussed joint projects in industry, agriculture and shipping. The meeting took place on October 6 in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency reports.

G. Nikitin noted that in the recent international exhibition INNOPROM. Belarus" already participated 20 Nizhny Novgorod companies, while a year earlier - nine. They returned from Minsk with a solid portfolio of signed agreements and contracts.
Joint projects are already being implemented in different areas: the region buys Belarusian agricultural machinery, and electric transport under the brand “Minin”, produced at a joint Belarusian-Russian enterprise in the Nizhny Novgorod region, is already working on routes. As part of the comprehensive modernization of the city electric transport system, 170 new trams and 62 electric buses produced by Nizhekotrans have already been delivered to Nizhny Novgorod. A new contract is being prepared for the supply of 60 trolleybuses with increased autonomous running in 2026-2027.

- Research and development work is underway to develop a promising line of hybrid and electric passenger transport. In the near future, it is planned to restart production at a new site in the Kulibin Special Economic Zone in Dzerzhinsk. It is planned to create high-tech and robotic production there, which will expand the product line, the governor said.
Nikitin informed about the plans of the Nizhny Novgorod region for the purchase of more than 200 units of tractors and other equipment in Belarus, including grain harvesting and forage harvesting. Nizhny Novgorod and Belarusian enterprises also intend to develop the supply of automotive components to consumers of both sides.

- For all applications received, we will provide full assistance: if necessary, we will promptly adjust the schedules for the execution of other orders in order to fulfill all obligations strictly on time, Kuznetsov assured.
In addition, the parties agreed to work out a three-stage project to develop shipping in Belarus. It includes clearing rivers with the help of ships of the technical fleet, the development of cruise shipping and logistics transport.

Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod region continue to successfully develop cooperation in the information sphere. Since 2022, there has been a cooperation agreement between the Minsk-Novosti agency and the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Information Center media holding, which unites print publications, regional and city network resources.
