Every year, from 14 to 21 October, the Week of Parental Love is celebrated in Belarus, combining Mother’s Day (14 October) and Father’s Day (21 October). On the portraits of average parents told sb.by in the National statistical Committee.

The mother most often has Belarusian citizenship, is married, lives in the city, raises two children, has higher or secondary special education, works in the field of trade or education.
The father also most often has Belarusian citizenship, he is married, a citizen, brings up two children, has higher or secondary special education, works in the manufacturing industry or in the construction sector.
According to the National Statistical Committee, as of January 1, 2026, 4045.1 thousand women aged 18 years and older (55.1% of the total population aged 18 years and older) and 3294.7 thousand men (44.9% of the total population aged 18 years and older) lived in Belarus. For every 1,000 women between the ages of 18 and 39, there are 1,016 men of the same age group. For every 1,000 women in the age group of 40 and older, there are 730 men of the same age group.
The number of women of reproductive age (15-49 years) as of January 1, 2026 amounted to 2088.9 thousand (42.8% of the total number of women), with 84 % of them living in urban areas. The average age of the mother (according to 2025) at the birth of a child is 30.5 years, at the birth of the first child - 27.6 years. In 2025, the first – 40% of children were born, the second – 34%, the third and subsequent – 26%. They became mothers as a result of the in vitro fertilization method of 1610 women.
In 2025, a little more than 52 thousand marriages were registered, with 61.6% of women first married, their average age was 26.7 years, 38.4% remarried, their average age was 40.5 years. The share of men who married for the first time was 65%, the average age of first marriage was 29 years, 35% of men married for the first time, their average age was 43.4 years.
According to the 2019 census, there were 2,612,413 families in Belarus. Of these, 43.7% had children under the age of 18.
