“Library for expectant mothers”: a soulful meeting was held in Naryan-Mar

In the Nenets Central Library named after Pichkov, within the framework of the All-Russian Day of Pregnancy, a soulful meeting-dialogue “Library for expectant mothers” was held. We talked not so much about the medical side of the issue as about the cultural side.

Librarian of the service department Anastasia Egorovna Novoselova presented an overview of the exhibition “World of Motherhood”. On the bookshelves there was everything that interested women in this period: from classic medical books to modern psychological bestsellers.

Invited doctors - gynecologist Elena Ivanovna Veselova and pediatrician Elena Anatolyevna Gorelyk - touched upon the topic of preparation for childbirth, nutrition and hygiene. Elena Anatolyevna also gave valuable advice on the choice of gadgets for the development of the baby and indicated which it is better to refuse.

Over a cup of tea, Ekaterina Pavlovna Mikheeva, librarian of the department for working with children, in the continuation of the performances of medical specialists, introduced future mothers to the books of Russian folklore and told about the importance of Russian jokes, call-ins and gossip.

Future mothers with pleasure studied the books presented at the exhibitions "World of motherhood" and "Mother's songs: from heart to heart", and someone managed to guess on the topic "What awaits me in two months?" - the answer prompted the book.

An unexpected surprise for the participants was a meeting with the deputy of the Assembly of Deputies of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Irina Olegovna Pudovkina, who congratulated mothers, and also gave parting words and recommendations after the birth of babies.

All future mothers received booklets, gifts and good wishes. The library thanked the speakers and expectant mothers for the wonderful atmosphere and invited them to come again.
