Experts assess this as a large-scale step within the framework of the state scientific and technological program for the development of genetic technologies. Its main goal is the formation of the Unified Pedigree Collection and the National Catalogue of Genetic Resources of Agricultural Animals of Russia. The coordinators are the Kurchatov Genomic Center and the Federal Research Center for Livestock named after L.K. Ernst.
The essence of the project is to create a national catalog of genetic resources and store them in cryobanks for genetic research (sequencing, research in the field of reproductive technologies and cellular engineering). Organization of a digital platform for increasing selection.
