In Belarus, with the development of electronic services, the need for electronic digital signatures (EDS) is growing. This was reported in the press service of the National Center for Electronic Services, writes sb.by.

EDS is widely used in electronic document management systems, for filing tax returns, statistical and other reporting, and also allows access to the widest range of electronic services and administrative procedures. It is analogous to a handwritten signature in the digital world and allows you to perform legally significant actions remotely. Since July 1, 2014, the country has issued more than 3 million certificates of public key verification of EDS, daily their number increases by an average of 1.8 thousand units.
A network of 49 service points has been created on the basis of 15 registration centers, which provide a full range of services for user registration, issuing public key certificates, issuing EDS funds in all regional and large district centers.
Extend the EDS certificate remotely allow services on the single portal of electronic services "E-Pasluga". Their essence is that the owner of the EDS, which expires soon, can renew the EDS certificate online without leaving the home or office, without pre-registration and visiting the registration center.
Online services for the issuance of EDS certificates were launched in 2020. In the first half of 2026, more than 20 thousand owners remotely extended the EDS certificate.
The algorithm for obtaining electronic services for renewal of the EDS certificate is simple. A citizen or an individual entrepreneur can use the service 6.0.00 “Remote publication of the certificate of an individual entrepreneur (individual) using a valid certificate”.
Having received a notification by e-mail that the validity of the EDS certificate expires, the owner must: create a request file in accordance with the instructions - for an individual entrepreneur, for an individual; go to his personal account on E-Pasluga using the current EDS certificate; select an electronic service 6.0.00 in his personal account; familiarize himself with and confirm his agreement with the user agreement and public contract; attach the created request file; indicate his contact details and email; choose a payment method and pay for the service.
After payment is confirmed, the system will automatically issue a certificate and store it in a cloud certificate store. In the order of the electronic service 6.0.00 of the personal account, the details of access to the cloud storage will be displayed. Also, these details will be sent to the specified contact details (using SMS and email), and then to the personal certificate manager.
For legal entities, obtaining a service for the remote publication of the EDS certificate is two-factor. Detailed information on the procedure is posted on the NCEU website.
Availability of the EDS certificate allows access to electronic services and administrative procedures on the single portal of electronic services "E-Pasluga". Today, there are 899 digitized services (303 electronic services, 596 administrative procedures), and most of them are available for order with strict authentication (using a personal EDS certificate, including an ID card).
The number of services provided increases year after year. If in 2022, a little more than 76 million services were provided through the portal, then in 2025 - about 173 million, and this year already more than 170 million services.
