In the Novgorod region summed up the results of the career guidance campaign “Industrial tourism”, timed to the Day of secondary vocational education. More than 1,500 students of the first and second courses visited the 50 leading enterprises and organizations of the region, the press service of the government of the Novgorod region reported.
The geography of coverage turned out to be wide: events took place in eight municipal districts - Novgorod, Valdai, Chudovsk, Borovichi, Malovishersky, Starorussky, Khvoynitsky and Pestovsky. For children, excursions became not just an acquaintance with production, but a full immersion in the working environment.
Students wore workwear and personal protective equipment, received safety briefings and got into the heart of enterprises. The routes covered key industries: from heavy industry (mechanical engineering, metallurgy, petrochemicals) to construction, social sphere, culture and catering.
For enterprises, this is a chance to form a personnel reserve in advance and adapt future specialists to their technological processes. The plan is to scale the practice and attract more students to it.
Representatives of educational institutions confirm that after such excursions, students are much more aware of the choice of profession, and their motivation to study is growing noticeably.
