More than 16 thousand residents of the Orel region work in agriculture

In the Orel region, more than 16 thousand people are employed in agriculture - these are employees of 734 organizations, as well as 1,298 farms and individual entrepreneurs. Their work ensures food security of the region and the country as a whole.

Small businesses and farmsteads provide the remainder, showing the importance of each link in the agricultural sector. Large agricultural enterprises provide 78% of products, which last year was estimated at 131.5 billion rubles.

As the Governor of the Orel region Andrei Klychkov noted in his channel in the national messenger MAX, the region rightfully bears the proud title of breadbasket of Russia, and the achievements of the Orel workers of the village are the best confirmation of this. Since 2017, the production of agricultural products in the region has tripled. Farmers are approaching the harvest mark of four million tons of grain, legumes and oilseeds, setting new federal records for yields.
