More than 650 children were rehabilitated on the Lokomat machine
The robotic therapy room has been working in the rehabilitation center for children with disabilities for more than six years

The robotic therapy room has been working in the Rehabilitation Center for children with disabilities for more than six years. During this time, specialists conducted about 6 thousand classes for children with cerebral palsy and other motor disorders.
Lokomat is an orthopedic device for restoring walking skills. The device is equipped with an electric drive and a special platform.
According to the head of the department of medical and social rehabilitation Lyudmila Ivanova, the robot controls the legs of the child and reproduces the physiologically correct step. Thanks to this, the work includes muscles that have been left without load for a long time.
Biofeedback is used during classes. The child sees his movements on the screen, understands the degree of his own participation in training and tries to do exercises more actively.
After the course, children improve coordination, deep sensitivity and overall motor activity. Regular exercise also strengthens bone tissue, and early rehabilitation helps prevent the development of joint contractures and trophic complications.
In 2026, 88 children underwent locomotor therapy. They had 705 training sessions. According to the center, in all cases, it was possible to achieve the formation of stepping movements and the development of muscle memory.
Every year, more than 130 children with cerebral palsy and other motor disorders take classes on the Lokomat apparatus.
