More than 80 thousand young Minsk residents recovered in summer camps in 2026

The capital traditionally retains a leading position in the republic in terms of the volume and quality of children's recreation. This was told by Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Andrey Strigelsky on October 9 during the city conference on the results of the summer rehabilitation of the capital’s schoolchildren in 2026, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, more than 80 thousand children rested and strengthened their health during the summer school holidays in camps of various types. He highly appreciated the health campaign of the current year and on behalf of the city leadership expressed sincere gratitude to all departments, enterprises, owners of bases and teachers involved in the organization of children's recreation.

- Ensuring a high-quality educational and leisure process and creating proper conditions for such a huge number of children is expensive, and there is a lot of serious work behind it, Strygelsky said. It is important that the summer health campaign was held without emergencies and received a good response from children and parents. Many words of gratitude were received from the leaders of the camps, enterprises and the city.

The final conferences are traditionally held in a field format. A new location is chosen each year. This is done in order to demonstrate to colleagues and owners of databases successful examples of interaction between enterprises and city authorities to improve children's facilities. This time, the venue for the meeting was the Zarnitsa country educational and health camp (owner - Integral OJSC - the management company of Integral Holding), located in the Uzden district. The conference participants were able to personally assess the well-groomed territory, excellent condition of the housing stock, club, dining room and swimming pool. For active leisure of children, a modern infrastructure has been created here, including a rope town and a platform for laser tag.

“The base is not young, the camp is more than 50 years old,” Strigelsky said. However, during the tour, all the participants were able to notice what enormous efforts and resources the Integral management invested in the modernization. The camp has acquired a wonderful modern look, comfortable and safe conditions are created here. This is a personal position of interest of the head of the enterprise, which allows you to maintain and strengthen the base.

According to him, this summer in environmentally friendly areas of the Minsk region operated 32 stationary Minsk camps. Thanks to the systematic work of the past years, there are practically no facilities in the capital that require global capital reconstruction. The main fund and basic infrastructure have already been put in order, and the city intends to move on along this path. By the season, at the expense of the budget and the owners' funds, furniture was widely updated, quality repairs were carried out of sleeping buildings, food units and sanitary units.

Speaking about the tasks for next year, the Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee focused on the need to update educational and educational programs. They need to be filled with new approaches and activities that are interesting and in demand by modern children. This will make it possible to more effectively form the right life and civic-patriotic attitudes among the younger generation.

In general, the main preparatory work will unfold in the following areas. The first is staffing. It is planned to increase the number of student pedagogical teams formed from students of profile colleges and universities. Work with educational institutions begins now. For future counselors, preliminary training is organized so that students come to shifts fully prepared and possess all the necessary methodological competencies for managing the children's team. The second is the continuation of modernization of the material and technical base of the camps.

The conference was attended by the Chairman of the Minsk City Council of Deputies Artem Tsuran, heads of departments and committees of the Minsk City Executive Committee, representatives of district administrations of Minsk, and other interested persons.

In turn, the head of the representative office of the Minsk City Department of the Republican Center for Rehabilitation and Sanatorium and Resort Treatment of the Population Valery Nafranovich said that the past summer season was characterized by colossal demand. Employment of suburban health centers amounted to almost 100%, which confirms the high level of trust of parents and professionalism of the capital's specialists. Special attention was paid in the summer to the meaningful filling of shifts. The main theme of many events was the Year of the Belarusian Woman. In the camps, meetings were organized with prominent and famous women of the republic. In addition, the republican information and educational project “Step to Success” was actively implemented in health institutions. The camps were visited by famous people, media personalities and heads of departments, who shared with teenagers stories of their life and professional path.

- An important achievement of the campaign was the resumption of a significant social program - the recovery of children with diabetes and cardiac diseases, accompanied by one of the parents, Nafranovich said. This year, 115 of these children were treated. At the same time, both children's vouchers and the stay of accompanying adults were fully paid from the city budget.

V. Nafranovich drew attention to the fact that preparations for the next summer campaign traditionally begin immediately after summing up the results of the current season. In the near future, an official protocol of instructions will be formed and sent to the owners of recreation centers. Among the key plans and tasks for the next year is the resumption of the Teremok camp after major repairs, as well as the expansion of inclusive recreation.

- At the moment, negotiations are underway to organize specialized rehabilitation for children with disabilities suffering from diabetes and cardiopathology on the basis of one of the leading children's sanatoriums, Nafranovich said.

Continuing the theme of the summer rehabilitation of young Minsk residents, the head of the representative office of the Minsk City Department of the Republican Center for Healthcare and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population noted that over the years of active work in the capital, tremendous experience has been accumulated:

- Our specialists have learned to work with children in such a way as to organize for them a really high-quality and full-fledged recovery. The main result of the campaign is that by the new school year, children return strong, healthy, charged with optimism and the right life position, and their parents remain fully satisfied with the quality of children's rest.

The conference also considered the results of the work of children's day camps, which were given a positive assessment. Participants also discussed other relevant issues. At the end, the best Minsk camps were awarded in various nominations.

In particular, in the nomination "Best stationary camp" the first place was taken by the camp "Zarnitsa" ("Integral" - the management company of the holding "Integral"), the second - the camp "Borok" ("MAPID"), the third - the Gagarin camp ("Minsktrans").

Gold in the nomination "Best stationary camp in catering" - at the camp "Belarus" (Minsk Tractor Plant). In the nomination "The best stationary camp in the organization of medical support" won the camp "Smena" (Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant).
