In summer, more than 80 thousand children of the capital rested in camps of various types. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Andrei Strigelsky, BelTA writes.

According to the Deputy Chairman, the priority form of recovery was country rest. In the summer, 32 stationary camps of Minsk worked on the territory of the Minsk region. It's a good, modern base. Every year, the owners and the city invest significant funds in the development of the infrastructure of the camps and improving living conditions in order to provide children with comfortable accommodation, organize events and leisure, and establish high-quality food, Andrei Strygelsky said.
Summing up the campaign, he stressed that it was successful. According to him, this is evidenced by the health effect, which is assessed primarily by medical indicators. “It is also important that the children were busy and organized, and more than 30 educational programmes of different orientations were implemented in camps of various types. Special attention was paid to patriotic education, the deputy chairman said.
Speaking about the plans for the next year, Andrei Strigelsky stressed that it is planned to improve approaches to pedagogical work and increase the number of pedagogical student groups that will work in health camps. "This year," he said, "there have been enough of these units." They included students of pedagogical universities and colleges. However, the need for personnel remains high, so we are already starting to work with universities and colleges to form future student teams and organize training for them. Students should come prepared, have the necessary methodological competencies to competently organize the children's team and work with it.”.
The Deputy Chairman also noted that work will continue to strengthen the material and technical base of health camps. This year, a major overhaul of the Teremok children’s health camp will be carried out. A number of other camps are also expected to undergo major changes. I am sure that we will approach the next health campaign with a good infrastructure and trained teachers who will conduct educational and health work with children, Andrey Strigelsky said.
“The summer health campaign is always a very responsible period. It is important for us that children can fully relax in the summer and improve their health. And most importantly, the continuous educational process in which they are immersed in schools, gymnasiums at the place of study, continued in the camp. This is not only a place for accommodation, food and health treatments, but also an opportunity to participate in patriotic and leisure programs, volunteer movement, he concluded.
