More than half of hotels in the Republic of Tatarstan already use a digital ID to accommodate guests without presenting paper documents. This was announced at a press conference in TASS by Minister of the Ministry of Digital Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Kazan Digital Week Ilya Nachvin. According to him, guests can use a digital identifier in the national messenger Max to confirm their identity. This technology is gaining popularity in other areas: digital ID is used in cultural institutions of the republic, where parents, pensioners and students with many children confirm the right to benefits without having to carry paper certificates.
Nachvin noted that the messenger "Max" has become an integral part of the daily life of Tatarstanis and performs the role of a personal assistant. The Minister also shared plans to hold an all-Russian student hackathon on the Max platform during the Kazan Digital Week International Forum. Last year, a similar event organized together with the messenger team brought together 2,500 participants.
The international forum will be held in Kazan from 29 to 31 October. Representatives of more than 50 countries have registered to participate. Last year, 25.8 thousand people from 61 countries took part in the event.
