Hogweed in Komi has grown to 4 thousand hectares

In the Republic of Komi, the area of distribution of hogweed Sosnovsky reached 4 thousand hectares. In the next three years, 15 million rubles will be allocated for the fight against dangerous weeds, but only 480 hectares are planned to be processed - about 12% of the infected territory.

At the same time, annually the hogweed develops about a fifth of new areas. According to scientists, the complete destruction of the plant, even with effective control, can take from seven to 171 years, depending on the chosen method of processing.
