The former top manager of the Minsk enterprise was given 11 years for a bribe in the amount of 134 thousand BYN

One of the leaders of the capital enterprise received a bribe in the amount of 134 thousand BYN and was put on trial together with the one who gave it and an accomplice. The three received 25 years in prison and fines of 270,000 BYN. The sentence has come into force, reports the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” with reference to the press service of the Minsk city court.

The main defendant was the first deputy general director - the chief engineer of the enterprise, which specialized in installing industrial equipment. In the second half of August - early September 2024, the man acted as the head of the organization and at the same time accepted a large sum. It was handed over by the director of another company with the assistance of his deputy. The money was supposed to guarantee the conclusion of a contract for the supply of a transformer substation to the state enterprise.

All three pleaded guilty. The recipient of the illegal reward was awarded 11 years in a correctional colony. He is also fined 135,000 BYN and will not be able to hold certain positions for five years. The top manager - the briber was imprisoned for eight years and received a fine of 90 thousand BYN, an accomplice - six years with a fine of 45 thousand BYN. All of them will have to serve their sentences in the colony in conditions of enhanced regime.
