The Central Bank revealed the details of the digital ruble offline
A special wallet and a secure SIM card will allow you to pay in digital rubles even in the zone without communication.

Russian users will soon be able to pay with the digital ruble even in places where there is no mobile network. About how such a system will be arranged, said Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Zulfiya Kakhramanova on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
According to the representative of the regulator, experts of the Central Bank have already studied a number of technical solutions for working with the national digital currency in the absence of the Internet. One of the most likely scenarios is the use of a secure SIM card or other physical module directly in the smartphone.
The scheme of use is simple: in advance, while there is access to the network, the user replenishes this special offline wallet with the desired amount. After that, you can safely make purchases, even being in the area of poor reception, in the subway or in a remote village. Funds will be written off directly from the secure chip when devices contact.
It is important to note that the final technology standard has not yet been approved. In the near future, the Central Bank plans to launch a pilot project involving a limited group of volunteers. If the tests prove the reliability and stability of the system, the new functionality will be gradually implemented for all owners of digital wallets.
“Our main priority is to make this process as safe as possible, but at the same time intuitive and convenient for each citizen,” the deputy chairman of the Central Bank concluded.
