Chelyabinsk police called bills that are counterfeited more often than others

In the Chelyabinsk region for nine months recorded 42 facts of circulation of counterfeit banknotes. Most often counterfeiters counterfeit banknotes of 5000, 2000 and 1000 rubles. Statistics led in the Department of economic security and anti-corruption regional GU MIA.

Most counterfeits are detected by banks during collection. Suspicious bills are also found by shopkeepers and residents themselves.

The police remind: if the banknote is in doubt, you can not try to pay it. The bill should be handed over to the police and told under what circumstances it was obtained.

The sale of deliberately counterfeit money falls under Article 186 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The maximum penalty for it can reach 15 years in prison.

When self-checking, experts advise paying attention to at least three protective signs. In banknotes denominated in 1000, 2000 and 5000 rubles, you can check watermarks, protective thread, relief elements for the visually impaired and areas that change color.

A suspicious banknote can be reported to the police on 102.
