What to do if someone else's fines come after the car is sold
After the sale of the car, the former owner can continue to receive notices of fines

The situation when after the transaction of purchase and sale of a car continue to come "letters of happiness", is not uncommon. The reason is that the new owner did not register the car for himself within the ten-day period established by law.
The first thing to do is to cancel the registration of the vehicle. After 10 days after the transaction, the former owner has the right to terminate the registration of the car. If the contract is executed through “Public Services” or notarized, the procedure can be carried out online. In other cases, a personal visit to the traffic police with the original contract will be required.
The second step is to challenge the fines received. Each fine is appealed separately within 10 days. The complaint must be accompanied by proof of sale: the contract and the act of acceptance and transfer. If the term of appeal is missed, an additional request for its restoration should be submitted, indicating valid reasons.
