What can not be done on October 10: ancient prohibitions and omens – we tell you how not to call trouble

October 10 in the national calendar is a day to which our ancestors treated with special attention. It was believed that some of the usual actions on this date can turn into trouble: from financial losses to family strife. "MK in Pskov" collected the main bans of this day.

Don't work hard. An exception was made only for cases related to the apiary: any other work on this day was considered in vain and even risky - it could bring losses.

Delay important financial decisions. Large transactions, loans, purchase of real estate - all this is better to transfer. According to legend, the money on October 10 literally “leaks”, and any major operation threatens to turn into a loss.

Avoid arguments and harsh words. The day requires peace and quiet: resentments inflicted on this date can last for a long time and spoil the relationship.

Stay awake too long. Sleeping in the morning was considered a bad omen: it could cause illness, deprive luck or even provoke sleep problems in the future.

Refrain from cutting. The superstition says that along with the hair you can “cut off” your well-being, so the visit to the hairdresser is better postponed to another day.

Don't go into the woods alone. According to popular beliefs, on this day the forest seems to “confuse paths”, and the risk of getting lost increases markedly.

Don't use your spouse's things. The sign warns that if the husband takes the clothes of his wife or vice versa, it can lead to family quarrels.

And most importantly, do not refuse to help. It is especially important to be generous to those who ask, such as sharing honey. In folk tradition, this was considered a guarantee of well-being.
