To understand the value of the unity of the Belarusian people, we need to talk more about the events that took place in the country in 1939. This opinion was expressed by the Manager of the President of Belarus Yuri Nazarov at the exhibition of historical photographs and publications dedicated to the history of the reunification of the BSSR and Western Belarus in 1939. This was reported in the press service of the Office of the President of the Republic of Belarus, writes sb.by.

The traveling exhibition is presented to the employees of the Presidential Affairs Department and the Secretariat of the Security Council of Belarus by its author Vladimir Lihodedov, winner of the award “For Spiritual Revival”, together with the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of State and Other Institutions.
Vladimir Likhodedov has been collecting old photos and documents about the history of Belarus for more than 50 years, and is also the author of the book series “Belarus United”. The events captured in rare photographs reflect the life and mood of people in the years of Polish oppression and the moment of liberation from it, when the legendary liberation campaign of the Red Army took place.
“There is only a small part here. These are 40 stands with photographs that tell in chronological order about the events of 1939. In addition, the photos show how the first All-Belarusian People’s Assembly was held. There are also unique shots with the speech of the statesman of those years Sergey Pritytsky in Moscow, when it was already announced about the reunification of Belarus, the author of the exhibition said.
The exhibition was also visited by the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Wolfovich.
All those present at the presentation studied historical photographs with great interest, shared the memories of their ancestors about those times, talked a lot about the significance of this state holiday for all residents of Belarus.
Yuri Nazarov thanked the author of the exhibition and the Belarusian Trade Union of State and Other Institutions for an interesting presentation and supported the initiative to hold similar meetings in the labor collectives of the Presidential Affairs Administration system. In order to understand the value of the unity of the Belarusian people, we need to talk more about the history of the events that took place in our country. And it is especially important to speak about historical truth to the younger generation. Without knowledge of history there can be no future, he concluded.
