The importance of the Day of National Unity for the country was told by Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus - Inspector for Minsk Dmitry Reutsky at a meeting with the staff of OJSC Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after V.I. Kozlov on September 10, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after V.I. Kozlov is one of the largest enterprises in Europe for the production of a wide range of electrical equipment. These are, for example, power transformers, complete transformer substations and other products. All this complies with international quality standards, which guarantees the reliability and environmental safety of products.
At the beginning of the meeting with the staff of the plant D. Reutsky noted that he had the most favorable impression of the enterprise.
- As for the economic component, it is one of the most positive in the capital. You have good agreements and positions in the Russian market, where your plant occupies about 40%. This contributes to the success of your sales and, accordingly, employees receive timely wages, said D. Reutsky. Another factor of stability is our domestic market, which is almost 100% predetermined to consume products. You know that we pay great attention to the development of the energy system, so the potential of the domestic market is very high. Therefore, the company has a certain airbag, but you can not relax. It is important to maintain existing positions, and the task is to expand the range of export supplies. The management of the plant understands this perfectly.

Speaking about the upcoming event, D. Reutsky stressed:
- National Unity Day is a holiday that should strengthen our national solidarity. September 17 is a special date, it is a connection of times when the lessons of history form the foundation for the development of the state.
Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Inspector of Minsk made a detailed excursion into the history, recalling the consequences of the Riga Peace Treaty of 1921 for the Belarusian lands. Then the territories of Western Belarus and Western Ukraine ceded to Poland.
- In fact, Poland’s policy was aimed at destroying the Belarusian nation. Its interests were not taken into account, the slogan “Poland is a state for one people” was announced. The Polish leadership has developed a strategy to assimilate our population with the Poles. It envisaged a number of aggressive directions: a ban on the Belarusian language and the Orthodox faith. Let me give you an example. In 1920, there were 8 Belarusian gymnasiums and 400 primary schools in Western Belarus. By 1938, none remained, which clearly demonstrates the approaches to the colonization of the Belarusian population. Higher education was also limited – the number of our students was no more than 3%, said D. Reutsky.

According to him, the attitude of the Polish authorities towards the population of Western Belarus is characterized as an ethnocide.
- Take at least the functioning of the concentration camp in Berez-Kartuzskaya in 1934-1939. In fact, it later became the prototype for the concentration camps of Nazi Germany. Over the past five years, 10,000 Belarusians have passed through this camp, many died. However, resistance to the Polish regime was organized, which confirmed and proved that the Belarusians were established as a nation and ready for independent national and state building. The Belarusian people managed to preserve ethno-cultural unity at that stage, and this laid the foundation for the development of the future of the country. Therefore, that period is very important for us, and we should be proud of it, Reuktius stressed.
He also spoke about the achievements of Belarus and Minsk in various areas of activity - about the success in the export of dairy and meat products, the development of the forest industry and energy, transplantology and the IT sector.

Then D. Reutsky answered questions of employees of the enterprise.
For example, he was asked about the possibility of extending the bus route No. 2C DS Loshitsa-2 - Tractor Plant to the Urals - so that employees of the plant (and not only) could get to work and home without a transfer. D. Reutsky’s attention was also drawn to the organization of additional security measures on the street. Guards, as parents bring children to the nearby gymnasium No. 36 and, leaving their cars, thereby hampering the movement of other vehicles.
- Of course, it is necessary to increase security measures, so this issue will be studied with a visit to the site, assessed by the district leadership with the participation of the traffic police. Then we will come up with a final decision. We will focus on the interests of the population on both issues, Reutsky explained.
