Creative ideology can be built only on the basis of the historical past. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on Education, Culture and Science of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vyacheslav Danilovich during an open lecture at the Moscow State University named after A. A. Kuleshov, reports sb.by.

Within the framework of the Youth Forum of the Union State “Memory”. Choice. Responsibility" in Mogilev University gathered young deputies, parliamentarians, historians and public figures from Belarus and Russia. They discussed the importance of preserving historical memory and truth, as well as consolidating efforts in this regard between the two states.

Communicating with young people, Vyacheslav Danilovich stressed that the preservation of historical memory plays a decisive role in the development of any state:

- We live in a time when, unfortunately, attempts to distort and falsify the historical past have reached a qualitatively new level. Given artificial intelligence, all of these things are present in a very broad format on the Internet. Therefore, holding such a forum, which attracts young historians and political scientists, is very important. History is the basis of ideology. But it is impossible to build a creative ideology without relying on the historical past. And ideology is the basis of politics. Some distort, falsify the historical past, seek to impose an ideology alien to one or another people and force them to implement policies in the interests of those who imposed this ideology. And holding such forums is aimed at effectively countering such attempts.

- Both students, young teachers and historians who spoke touched on different aspects and topics. And it is very important that they shared practical developments, especially young teachers. It is very important to convey the historical truth to our young generation in the educational process. It is important that the Youth Forum of the Union State is a scientific and technological component in terms of history. Creativity is the development of our youth, but we must not miss this element of historical memory, especially in modern conditions.

Kirill Dovmatovich, a teacher of the history of Soligorsk High School No. 45, expressed the opinion that patriotism is the foundation for any statehood. Therefore, it is very important to understand the values on which patriotism is built:

- Such forums and lectures allow us to exchange views, find common ground, identify problems and find solutions to them. And here you can conduct a serious brainstorming. I have open lessons scheduled for next week, and thanks to the forum and colleagues, we have found a new format for them. The lesson will be devoted to Slavic migration in Belarus. And a colleague and I from another city came up with a format for children to recreate their movement in class: looking for artifacts, some facts and ways right in the office. In a way, it's going to be a historical quest right in the school's office.
