In Simferopol on October 9, a procession will be held during which the relics of St. Luke of Crimea will be transferred from the Holy Trinity convent to the Alexander Nevsky cathedral, reports “Crimea 24”.
The transfer will take place with the blessing of Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea. The procession will be attended by bishops and believers from all over the peninsula.
Acting head of the press service of the Crimean Metropolis, priest Antony Kamaldinov noted that this day will forever go down in the history of the Crimea.
He explained that the procession will give believers the opportunity to honor the contribution of St. Luke and thank him for his prayers and intercession.
According to the priest, believers will be able to appeal to the saint, tell him “about their joys, their sorrows, their experiences”, ask for healing and his grace-filled touch.
Earlier, Bishop Yalta, vicar of the Simferopol and Crimean diocese, Bishop Nestor (Donenko) called the main thing of St. Luke of Crimea the witness to Christ. He also explained why the saint, who had a gift for painting, devoted himself to medicine, and then took the sacred rank.
