December 2026 in the Volgograd region will be abnormally warm

Experts warn residents of Volgograd about a significant deviation of temperature from the climatic norm

Published
December 2026 in the Volgograd region will be abnormally warm

The reason for this is the strengthening of El Niño, a phenomenon in which the waters of the Pacific Ocean near the equator heat up more than usual. In addition, the weather is affected by the positive phase of the dipole in the Indian Ocean and the warm tropical Atlantic. The peak of the abnormal heat is expected to occur in December 2026.

At the same time, in October of this year, the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia predicted in the Southern Federal District the temperature within the normal range (from -1 to +1 ° C). In Volgograd itself and the region in the afternoon is expected +21. +26 °C, but at night thermometers can drop to +2 °C.
