"December will be absolutely anomalous." Forecasters shocked by the new forecast
Siberia, the Urals and the Far East are waiting for severe frosts up to -40 ° C, and the European part of Russia will also not avoid serious cold.
The year 2026 has repeatedly surprised us with climatic anomalies, and December, judging by the latest data of meteorologists, will be no exception. The first winter month prepares residents of Russia a severe test, forcing them to seriously think about the warmest things in the wardrobe.
Geography of cold:
Siberia and the Urals under attack. Already in the first decade of the month, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Khabarovsk may face temperatures approaching the frightening mark of -30 ° C.
The Far East is at risk. Towards the end of December, forecasters do not rule out a dramatic scenario in which thermometers in Vladivostok and the surrounding territories will collapse to -40 ° C, making this macroregion the main epicenter of the winter element.
European Russia will not be saved either. Residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg at the beginning of the month are waiting for frosts up to -20 ° C. And in the second half of December, the situation may worsen: in some regions, preliminary estimates allow cooling to -25. -30°C.
Experts urge not to panic ahead of time. Long-term predictive models are regularly adjusted as new weather data become available. Meteorologists strongly recommend checking these frightening scenarios with the operational information of the relevant agencies, not perceiving preliminary calculations as the final verdict of winter.
