The start of the Open Championship of Belarus in bullet shooting was given in the Sports and Rifle Complex named after Marshal S.K. Tymoshenko on September 8, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

The guest of honor of the ceremony was the multiple champion of the USSR, Europe and the world, seven-time world record holder, Olympic champion of Montreal 1976, Honored Master of Sports Alexander Gazov.
Shooting for me is not just a sport where the strongest wins. It is a sport in which everyone should hear themselves without noticing the noise around them. Each of you should have a steel bar! It is the art of managing your body and your emotions. I went from a beginner to an Olympic champion, and I wish you to continue to reach the same heights, representing our country, said Gazov.

In the coming days, 160 of the strongest athletes will compete for 10 sets of awards.
- The most difficult is emotional and psychological preparation. We trained as much as we did, and we worked to automatism. But when you are in the line of fire, there are rivals, judges, the adrenaline goes off the scale. Everyone has a jitter before they start. We are advised to tune in more psychologically, breathe properly. In fact, the whole struggle is in our head. If you do not set yourself up correctly, training will go to waste, the participants of the competition shared.
Senior coach of the national team of Belarus on bullet shooting Ivan Nesterovich said that the athletes behind the preparatory stage. The backbone of the teams that claim to win Olympic quotas is determined.

Shooters test their readiness in combat conditions. The level of shooting competition at these starts is prohibitively high. The best gathered in Minsk. We will once again be convinced of the main truth of shooting: only one shot is always good – the one made at the right moment with a cold head. The rest is an invaluable experience, said I. Nesterovich.
The competition will begin on September 9. In the morning (beginning at 9:30) mixed pairs (mixes) will converge in shooting from an air rifle. In the afternoon, the awards will play out in the shooting of an air pistol (a men's tournament and a women's tournament). The National Open will end on Sunday, September 13. Entry is free.
