In Smolensk, within the framework of the national project “Long and active life”, initiated by President Vladimir Putin, the reconstruction of the second building of the polyclinic No. 6 on Communist Street was completed. The facility remained unfinished for more than 10 years while the facility itself continued to receive patients in a nearby building. According to the source text, the work was completed in 2026.
The renovated building has created a modern infrastructure and provides full accessibility for people with limited mobility: a ramp, two special entrances and elevators are installed. For high-quality diagnosis, the clinic received modern medical equipment: a computed tomography scanner, ultrasound diagnostics and mammography devices. The surrounding area has also been improved.
Work to modernize healthcare in the region continues. This year, 11 modular structures are being built in municipalities of the Smolensk region to accommodate paramedic and obstetric points (FAPs). In addition, the construction of two large medical buildings continues in Smolensk - the Smolensk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital and the Smolensk Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital. The main goal of these projects is to make medical institutions more modern, and obtaining medical care more convenient and affordable for all residents of the region.
