“Dialogue on fake 4.0”: experts from 80 countries unite at a forum in Moscow against disinformation

Measures to counter truth distortion, disinformation and cyber fraud were discussed in Moscow. “Dialogue on Fakes” – the largest international platform today hosted media experts, security officials, fact-checking specialists from 80 countries, including Belarus.

Phones and tablets in the hands of hundreds of people in this room as speakers speak are no sign of bad tone or lack of interest in speakers. On the contrary, all these people instantly stream every word from the podium to the world wide web. The truth is being told here today. Two thousand fact checkers from 80 countries unite against fakes at a dialogue in Moscow. There are no boundaries. After all, modern disinformation is no longer a problem of a separate edition or state. It's a global threat.

Andrey Kondrashov, General Director of the TASS news agency: Fakes flooded everyone. They control the internal political situation in a number of countries, they disrupt huge economic deals, they divert huge investment flows to the wrong place, they are simply used today as an indispensable weapon to achieve the dirty goals of individual political groups.”.

It is also a cover for unscrupulous competition. For example, fakes about Belarusian “air balloons”. Somewhere then they closed the borders, and someone immediately allowed to earn extra money on transit. Or the lies surrounding Ryanair landing in 2021. The West did not understand the nuances, but simply imposed sanctions against our oil refining and potassium. Lies are also the cause of major diplomatic scandals. The Western mainstream today is drones.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov: Meanwhile, as it has now happened in Germany, our diplomats are being expelled and our diplomatic consular missions and cultural centers are being closed. The whole point of Western information policy is to quickly concoct a fake, inflate it to a universal catastrophe in a day, two, three and block access to alternative estimates, information about that particular episode that in this case inflates.

Tools are more sophisticated. Fake documents, photos and screenshots are yesterday. Now in use – artificial intelligence and all its generation capabilities.

In Moscow today we spoke about our network of information channels and platforms. Such, for example, you can check the service or Internet page for fraud. But the main advice to any user remains common in any country: to analyze "sensational" and aggressive information, to look for the source.
