The Governor of the Tula region Dmitry Milyaev invited residents and guests of the region to visit the military-historical festival “From Tula to Berlin”, which opened in the Tula Kremlin. The events combine exhibitions, meetings, film screenings and interactive programs dedicated to the defense of Tula and the feat of the defenders of the city, said the head of the region in his channel in the MAX messenger.
This year marks the 85th anniversary of the Tula Defence Operation and 50 years since Tula was awarded the honorary title of Hero City. Dmitry Milyaev stressed that in such a year it is especially important to tell about the events of wartime and preserve the memory of those who defended the city.
For the Tula region, the history of the Great Patriotic War is associated with the fate of specific families, the work of gunsmiths and the courage of militiamen, NKVD fighters and other defenders of Tula. In the autumn of 1941, they stopped the enemy’s offensive on the outskirts of the city and did not allow the ring to be closed around Moscow.
According to the Governor, the festival helps to talk about these events in modern and understandable language. The program provides interactive venues, exhibitions, quests, team games for schoolchildren and students, performances, concerts, lectures and creative meetings.
A separate block is dedicated to the work of the VoenFilm studio. Visitors will be able to see costumes and props from the paintings “Podilsk cadets” and “Brest Fortress”, learn about the features of creating military cinema and meet with the authors and participants of film projects.
Dmitry Milyaev thanked the organizers of the festival - the Tula Museum Association and the regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society. Separately, the governor noted the People’s Artist of Russia, the director of the festival Igor Ugolnikov for his attention to the history of the Tula region, his professional approach and work on the program.
The head of the region drew attention to the fact that the festival is primarily addressed to the younger generation. The opening was attended by schoolchildren, students, Suvorovtsy and cadets. According to Dmitry Milyaev, it is important that the story of the feat of the defenders of Tula sound authentic and help young people feel connected with their family, city and country.
The Governor also thanked cultural institutions, searchers, historians, artists, volunteers and teachers involved in the preparation and holding of the festival. Such events, he noted, help to build respect for the past and responsibility for the future.
The festival “From Tula to Berlin” will last in the Tula Kremlin until October 17. Dmitry Milyaev invited Tulyaks and guests of the region to come to the events with their children. A detailed program was published by the organizers.
We will remind, on the eve of "MK in Tula" wrote that Dmitry Milyaev opened in a solemn atmosphere an exhibition for the 85th anniversary of the defense of Tula and the 50th anniversary of the title "Hero City".
