The house of a poor peasant from past centuries was recreated in a Russian city

In the Suzdal Museum of wooden architecture and peasant life, a reconstruction of the home of a poor peasant of the Vladimir province appeared. The building was built using historical technologies to show visitors the peculiarities of rural life of past centuries. This was reported by representatives of the museum in social networks.

The work continued for a little over a year. The masters of the Vladimir carpentry artel tried to reproduce as accurately as possible the ancient construction techniques and furnishings. The house was equipped with a clay floor, traditional wooden shops and a furnace with a black furnace. Particular attention was paid to carved casings, which were made manually using forged tools.

Visitors to the museum were also able to join the construction. In special classes, those wishing to master the processing of wood, felling, insulation of the log with moss and the manufacture of reed sheaves. In the near future, experts plan to replace temporary fastenings with forged nails and organize an exhibition about the history of local carpentry.

In the future, the museum intends to expand the historical development, restoring a typical peasant estate of the Vladimir province of the early XX century. It will include a traditional five-walled house and outbuildings, allowing you to get acquainted with the everyday way of rural residents.
