Dovgalo: Prosecutor's supervision today covers almost all spheres of society
Annual informing of parliamentarians by the Prosecutor General on the situation with crime, as well as on ensuring supervision over the implementation of legislation.

The annual notification of parliamentarians by the Prosecutor General about the situation with crime, as well as the supervision of the implementation of legislation in absolutely all spheres, is a constitutional norm. This comment to the correspondent sb.by drew the attention of Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives on human rights, national relations and the media Irina Dovgalo.

The parliamentarian drew attention to the fact that during the report, the Prosecutor General of Belarus Dmitry Gora focused on the main problematic issues, including juvenile crime:
- Of course, we cannot but rejoice at the overall decline in crime. If by the end of 2025, the number of registered crimes in the country decreased by 13 percent, then for 8 months of 2026 it decreased by another 8 percent. But there are more problems, and we need to take proactive steps, including adjusting the legislation. In particular, information and communication technology crime is involved. At the moment, about 30 percent of all crimes registered in the republic are committed in this sphere. And fraudsters do not stand still, crime in this area is improving. Fraudsters are introducing artificial intelligence technologies and GSM gateways, and the prosecutor’s office insists not only on improving the regulatory framework, but also on strengthening the digital literacy of the population. Agree, each of us first of all for himself must understand that today even without minimal knowledge in the field of information and communication technologies simply can not do. Every day, as they say, “from every iron” warn about telephone fraudsters, saving bank accounts, that no one should be given logins and passwords, but every day such crimes are recorded.
Irina Dovgalo noted that each of the Belarusians should be vigilant in order to avoid falling into the trap of fraudsters.
- Particular emphasis was placed on extremist crimes, the number of which, fortunately, is declining. If in 2024 we had more than 1.5 thousand such crimes, then this year – a little more than 300. This indicates the results of the systematic work of our security forces. If we sleep peacefully, then at this time law enforcement officers are on duty. Literally with pain, the parliamentarians received information about the death in one of the district centers of a child born in 2025, he had broken ribs, which indicates that his parents beat him from birth. And we are again returning to the system of prevention, the interaction of subjects, but now these are words, and there is no child, so the severity of the prosecutor’s response should not be surprised.
The parliamentarian stressed that the meeting also touched upon the issues of unauthorized mining, clogging of water bodies, protection of the rights of citizens in the construction sector, as well as the continuation of the criminal case on the genocide of the Belarusian people, in which five criminal cases against the Nazis have been initiated.
The information of Prosecutor General Dmitry Gora once again convinced that prosecutorial supervision really covers almost all spheres of society, ensuring control over compliance with the Constitution and the implementation of laws. The concept of law, rules and morality makes sense only when they are based on equality, and in Belarus everyone is equal before the law, said Irina Dovgalo. “It is impossible to live abroad, ready to be punished.” Prosecutor General about the appeals of Belarusians who went abroad
