From the field to the loaf: how was the main holiday of bakers in Kalinkovichi and Shklov

The main holiday of those who feed the country. In the Gomel and Mogilev regions, the best workers of the village are honored – people on whose work the food well-being of the country depends. "Dozhinki" united those who worked all year on the ground in the fall to sum up the main - the harvest.

In the Gomel region, the capital of a large festival of bread became Kalinkovichi. Here the heroes of the harvesting campaign are honored, and those for whom the field is a place of daily work open the celebration. In the festive procession there are people who are united by one important thing: to grow and remove crops. The emphasis is on the features of each district, and in the hands - a symbol of harvest.

Weighty, fragrant, with a golden crust. Behind it is the total result of the region: more than a million tons of grain. The results of the work for the whole year were presented at the exhibition of the farmsteads. Here grew a whole festive quarter with shopping and craft rows, where treats were prepared exclusively from the flour of the new harvest. It is time to take stock and celebrate those who have distinguished themselves in the field. This year, 500 crews received the title of “thousander”. But there are among the advanced and two, and even three thousand.

Gennady Kudravets, chief agronomist of the Voznesensk agricultural enterprise (Chechersk district): We have already finished the sowing. We've got a little more corn to put away for grain and silage. And so you can rest already in the winter. I could do a little! But why do you want a cupcake? There's a lot of work to do, and there's a lot of work to do.

Ivan Krupko, Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee: Indeed, the year was tense, difficult. But worthy! In all the vicissitudes, weather conditions, approaches, I believe, the peasants coped at a high level. The harvest today is decent. And spike cereal and rapeseed. He made it possible to fulfill the state order. Holiday "Dozhinka" emphasizes not only success in crop production, harvesting - it gives an opportunity to look into the future, into tomorrow.

In the Mogilev region, Dozhinki also became a big event for the entire region. The center of the holiday this year is Shklov. The season was not easy, but the result is significant - 1 million 250 thousand tons of grain. Behind these figures is the total work of machine operators, drivers, grain dryers and workers of dairy complexes. The focus is on the people, thanks to whom the region received its bread result.

For the best workers - gifts, gratitude and a rich holiday program. Shklov welcomes guests on a grand scale: shopping rows, food court, farmsteads of folk craftsmen. The fair stretched almost two kilometers. And for the festive mood answer more than fifty artists.

As conflicts escalate in the world and prices continue to rise, our own food security takes on special importance. Therefore, the current harvest is much more than just the result of the harvesting campaign. This contributes to the stability of the country. A new agricultural season with its challenges lies ahead. And the task remains unchanged – to do everything possible to make the Belarusian table with bread.
