The Danube shook: Romania began to dump water from reservoirs
In Romania began to use water reserves from several reservoirs to raise the level of the Danube

Romania has started using water reserves from several reservoirs to raise the Danube level. According to Antena 3, the lack of water in the river can make it difficult to supply cooling water to the nuclear power plant in Chernavoda.
According to the channel, on Saturday the level of the Danube was minus 259 centimeters. This figure was only three centimeters above the mark at which water withdrawal for cooling nuclear power plants can become problematic.
To maintain the level of the river, the authorities decided to use the reservoirs Izbichen, Mihaileshti and Jezerul, located in the south of the country.
In particular, from 10 to 18 October, the discharge of water from the Jezerul reservoir is planned to increase by 20 cubic meters per second.
The measures taken are designed for a limited period. The National Water Resources Administration of Romania will monitor the state of reservoirs and monitor the use of water reserves.
