Two Murmansk women won the competition of the best teachers of Russia
Two teachers of the Murmansk College of Arts became winners of the All-Russian competition of the Ministry of Culture of Russia. Maria Makarova and Olga Pavlova received awards for their contribution to the development of music education and the training of young musicians. Maria Makarova has been working at the college for 23 years. During this time, her students repeatedly became laureates of international and all-Russian competitions, received special scholarships from the Governor of the Murmansk region and grants from the President of Russia. Three students received presidential grants for outstanding abilities, and graduates continue their studies at the leading conservatories of the country.
The teacher combines teaching work with performances in the Murmansk Regional Philharmonic. As part of the musical and lecture group “Domino”, she participates in the creation of programs for children and adults. For 15 years, the team has prepared more than 40 such programs.
Olga Pavlova has been teaching musical and theoretical disciplines for over 40 years. Her teaching methods were used in art schools throughout the Murmansk region. Now the teacher is working on a method of teaching solfeggio using Braille, which helps to make music education more accessible to students with disabilities.
Students of Olga Pavlova also regularly become laureates of international and all-Russian competitions. She is a member of the jury of regional creative competitions.
