Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya metro line will be extended to Khimki near Moscow and the capital district of Kurkino. The length of the new section will exceed 5 km. This was told by the head of the capital complex of urban planning policy and construction Vladimir Efimov.
“The northern radius of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line has been extended to the Khimki city district and the Kurkino metropolitan area. The length of the new section will exceed five kilometers, said Vladimir Efimov.
He noted that two stations will appear on the new site - Khimki near Kurkinskoye Highway and the final Kurkino. According to him, the metro will become more convenient for residents of Kurkin, Putilkov and Khimk.
Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced plans to extend the metro to Khimki, Mytishchi, Balashikha and Krasnogorsk. By 2035, it is planned to build about 35 stations.
After the extension of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line will have two stations in the suburbs - the current "Kotelniki" and the new "Khimki". The new stations are expected to improve transport services for about 454,000 people living in Kurkin, Putilkovo and Khimki.
For residents of the territories near the new stations, the journey time to the rail frame will be reduced by 6 times.
More than 70,000 passengers will use the new stations daily.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin and Sergey Sobyanin opened the first five stations of the Rublevo-Arkhangelsk metro line.
