The expert explained to Volgograd students whether a first-grader needs a personal phone

You need a phone if your child is going to school. But it is not necessary to buy a smartphone – a button model with a GPS tracker is suitable.

If you decide to buy a smartphone, explain: it is needed to communicate with loved ones. Use - at breaks or on the way home, not in class. Decide on the rules in advance: how much time on the phone and what kind of violations. Set up child mode.

Explain the rules of cybersecurity: do not open links, do not answer other people's numbers, do not go to incomprehensible sites, do not install applications. Much is done by parental control.

When choosing a phone: the body is durable, the device is convenient and light. A first-grader will have enough basic functions.

If a child wants a phone like a classmate, that’s fine. Listen and explain why you are not ready to buy. Remember that the lack of a smartphone does not make a person worse.
