The expert told who is responsible for the appearance of rats in the house and where to complain

The peak of the invasion of rats in apartment buildings falls in autumn: rodents migrate in search of heat, populate entrances and apartments, and attract them and overcrowded container platforms. Who is to blame for their appearance and where to go, in an interview with URA.RU explained the expert in the field of housing Evgenia Yunisova.

Rodents settle in basements and on landfills due to comfortable conditions: cluttered rooms, dampness and accumulations of waste create an ideal environment for reproduction. For nests, they use technical voids, crevices in the walls, old boxes and insulation, and also come from nearby landfills for food.

For sanitary maintenance of basements and common premises, as Yunisova explained, the management organization is responsible.

“With a certain frequency, the management organization is obliged to carry out work on disinfection and deratization, that is, treatment against insects and rodents. These works are carried out by specialized organizations with appropriate licenses and permits, the expert said.

According to SanPiN 2.1.3684-21, planned surveys of basements, technical subfields and garbage chambers for rodent population should be carried out at least once a month. The processing of the container site is carried out by its owner - a unitary enterprise, the Criminal Code, HOA or HSC; you can specify the owner on the website of the regional operator for the management of MSW.

Independently, according to Yunisova, residents have the right to process only in their own apartments, having ordered deratization. At the same time, it is necessary to report the detection of rodents in the Criminal Code, since the processing of one apartment will not solve the problem. Putting poison in common places is prohibited - it is dangerous, and the processing should be organized by the Criminal Code under a contract with a specialized service.

The management organization cannot demand from residents a separate fee for bullying rats: the maintenance of common property is already paid from the payment for housing maintenance, the expert noted.
