There are questions on defense: the head coach of the national team of Belarus on football – about the upcoming game in the League of Nations

The head coach of the Belarusian national football team Viktor Gancharenko shared his thoughts on the upcoming match of the League of Nations against the Finnish team, which will be held on October 6, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

According to the mentor, in the last match against the team of San Marino (4: 0) injured defender Roman Begunov. All the other players are ready and eager to fight. The coaching staff resorts to rotation to maintain a good pace, distribute the load. V. Gancharenko admitted that now he is determined with the choice of players in the starting lineup. All are diverse. Someone can be used for actions in high pressure, someone for playing between lines, someone for running out of depth, someone for reliable protection.

- There are times when you play well, but standard positions may not work. It happens the opposite: standard positions succeed, you can squeeze something out of them, and the game moments do not add up. We have questions about how we defend ourselves. Not only to tall players, but also to those who play personally or do not let the opponent run away. There's a lot of nuance. And of course, we pay attention to this – both zones in protection and personal actions, Gancharenko said.

The commander-in-chief of the Belarusians discussed the words of the coach of the Finnish national team Jacob Friis, who said that it would be easier for him to play in empty stands:

- The situation here is twofold. On the one hand, there is a man in the Finnish national team who can tell you something in silence. But it is more common for players, coaches, when they play such matches in the atmosphere that was in Albania - it is both noise and entourage. It is a natural situation for a match of this level. I don't think my colleague has experienced this yet. After the game, his opinion may change.

In addition, J. Friis at a press conference noted that his wards will try to play so that the opponent had a minimum of chances to score. That was the case in the first match a week ago. The Finns have a game plan. Their helmsman hopes the players will improve individual elements of the game.

- Belarus is a good opponent, a strong team that can perform well both without the ball and quite well with the ball. In principle, we are ready for both scenarios. We understand that if we have the ball, then most likely the opponent will press high. Belarus is doing very well. But we're ready for it. All the answers will give tomorrow's match, - added J. Friis.
