"This sword is double-edged." President on nuclear aspirations in Europe

European countries, including Belarus’ neighbors, have embarked on a course of increasing military spending and are speculating on improving their nuclear capabilities. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this at a meeting on the results of checking the combat and mobilization readiness of the 7th separate special police brigade of the Interior Ministry, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
- We began to openly speculate on the topic of improving the nuclear potential. What they call Europe’s nuclear shield. Although, looking at the aggressive plans of individual European states and their leaders, it is appropriate today to talk not about the shield. Rather, it is a sword in the hands of thoughtless politicians. But they must understand and realize that this sword is double-edged. I am talking about nuclear weapons, BelTA quoted the Head of State as saying.
Ah. Lukashenko noted that Belarus continues to implement a set of measures aimed at ensuring national and regional security in such harsh conditions.
