Voronezh “Torch” repeated the anti-record of Yaroslavl “Shinnik” for the duration of a winless series in the elite division of Russian football

The Voronezh “Torch” repeated the anti-record of the Yaroslavl “Shinnik” for the duration of a winless series in the elite division of Russian football. After losing to Lokomotiv Moscow in the 10th round of the Russian Premier League on October 10, the Voronezh series reached 28 matches.
The last time “Torch” won in the RPL on October 18, 2024. Then the Voronezh team on the road beat Grozny Akhmat with a score of 3: 2. After that, the club left the elite division for one season, and then returned to the Premier League, but could not interrupt the unsuccessful series so far.
For 28 matches in the RPL, Torch failed to win: he scored 11 draws and 17 defeats. The difference between goals scored and missed was 12:40. Ten meetings from this series fell on the current season.
The anti-record "Shinnik" remained for 18 years. The Yaroslavl club did not win 28 games in a row in 2006 and 2008. During this period, the team drew seven times and suffered 21 defeats with a goal difference of 19:54. As with the Torch, the series spanned two seasons with a break due to relegation to League One.
In the season-2024/25, Torch took the last, 16th place in the RPL, as did Shinnik in the 2006 championship. Both clubs returned to the elite division. However, Yaroslavl at the end of the 2008 season relegated and since then have not returned to the Premier League.
