Photography. More than 100 outlets, a sea of emotions and an ocean of impressions – the autumn fair was held in Shchuchin
For the whole Sunday day, the city of Shchuchin turned into a large market platform - a traditional autumn fair and sale of agricultural products was held here.

On a whole Sunday, the city of Shchuchin turned into a large market platform - a traditional autumn fair and sale of agricultural products was held here, the correspondent of sb.by reports.

Without a doubt, “Schuchynski kirmash-2026” caused a great stir. Honey from Ivatsevichi, potatoes from Samokhvalovichi, onions from Zelva, cabbage from Shchuchin, blueberries from Gantsevichi, hazelnuts from Molodechno, and tree seedlings from Lida. Visitors walked in a dense stream, and on parked cars we noticed numbers not only of the Grodno region, but also of Minsk, Brest, Gomel, Mogilev and Vitebsk.

The main locations unfolded on the central streets. The counters are generous! Prices are democratic! And the sellers made royal discounts on all kinds of goods. By the way, retail locations could be calculated, as they say, with the naked eye: local residents carried the purchased products in their hands, rolled on carts and carried bicycles in all directions.

For seven hours, agricultural products were flying like hot cakes. And prices in this kind of open-air hypermarket were significantly lower than in stores. From the abundance of products in high demand, the hand itself reached for the purse.
It is not surprising that bags stuffed with vitamin products, fashionable shoppers with a belt over the shoulder, as well as spacious household and sports bags were constantly coming to the attention of our photojournalist.
The rich gifts of autumn delight the eye, smell delicious and taste pleasant. So I want to stroke a ripe barrel of striped watermelon or golden fragrant melon! And how can not wait to taste honey in honeycombs or with perga or fragrant large plums! By the way, friendly sellers gave everyone to taste almost any product.

Note a separate line that their products at the agricultural fair in Shchuchin brought not only representatives of local farms — SEC and CJSC district — but also farmers, as well as owners of personal subsidiary farms. For statistics lovers, we counted 105 outlets and facilities.
The trade was brisk. Prices are acceptable (about them - a separate conversation!), so the goods did not lie on the shelves. For example, cucumbers sold at a price of 4 to 6 rubles per kilogram, tomatoes - from 2 to 4 rubles, and cabbage was on the ruble, and closer to the end of the fair - and at all 70-80 kopecks. Vegetables and fruits flew away almost instantly. There was a lot of honey. Personally counted a dozen and a half of its varieties: forest, lime, buckwheat, meadow, flower, dandelion, heather, sunflower, coriander and even... willow..
Very popular was our second bread - potatoes. “Uladar” and “Lilea”, “Zorachka” and “Queen Anna”, “Scarb” and “Manifesto”, “Pershawflower” and “Yanka” sold an average of 80 kopecks. Wholesale 50-pound bag could be purchased much cheaper - for 30-35 rubles.
Near one of the stalls we notice an elderly man. This is Mikhail Zmitrukevich from Shchuchinsky District. "" Looking at a potato-filled display case, a young pensioner raises his right thumb:
- We're bullbashi! I say that with pride. I have known for a long time that there are about 300 different traditional recipes for cooking potatoes in Belarusian cuisine. And recently in the news on BT I saw that 60 varieties of Belarusian potatoes were registered in the State Register of Belarus. Great product! Delicious, brewy, useful and very satisfying. If I could, I would buy in bulk all our “second bread” in Shchuchin today.

Their eyes were shattered by the abundance of seedlings. There were fruit trees and bushes. For apples and pears, sociable friendly sellers asked for 15-25 rubles, cherries, peaches and apricots were quoted slightly more expensive - 30-35 rubles. But currant bushes, gooseberry, raspberries and walnut seedlings offered 10 rubles each.

We're approaching one of the vendors. This is Daria Strukovskaya from Lida. "" A friendly girl barely has time to answer questions from interested buyers, but a minute or two for sb.by journalists in her ultra-dense schedule still finds:
- So much demand that I am surprised! I brought 33 species of seedlings from the neighboring area, 20 of them are apple trees. There are also peaches and apricots. Previously, they were considered exotic, but now due to climate warming, they diverge very well. They are frost-resistant, perfectly take root in our conditions in any region of Belarus.

In the tempo of the waltz, Dmitry Milyuk, a farmer from the village of Podgrushany, Zelven district, is shipping bags of large cabbage
- I'm not taking anything home! Cabbage sells for 90 cents per kilogram. Demand is great, just have time to count orders and ship products. Surely, many residents and guests of Shchuchin today will have dinner with delicious pigeons. The harvest came with blisters. The fact is that in the summer cabbage dried, and had to water it by hand for 10-12 hours. We have about 10 hectares of land. It was necessary to cling to the tractor barrel and motor pump, and hard work. But, as it turned out in the end, speaking the folk language, the sheepskin was worth it.

By the way, if there were more than two dozen outlets with fresh cabbage, then only one with sauerkraut! Its owner is Stepan Rusak, a resident of the agro-town of Rakovichi, Shchuchinsky district.
- I sell the goods at 5 rubles per kg. I brought four tons in the trailer. People ask, bargain, buy. Many people come back and take more. And even the cold, incessant downpour did not scare them away.
In addition, beets were sold well in the shopping rows (for a ruble for 1 kg), cabbage for 80 kopecks, apples for one and a half rubles and pears for 2-3 rubles. The carrot went for the ruble twenty - fifty rubles, for the same price you could buy a large onion.
Fish were also very popular from live goods. Umbrellas, umbrellas, umbrellas, umbrellas... Colorful, striped, black and bright red. It lined up a long line to the pavilion for fresh fish. Next to the local colorful cat Barsik. Grey with a white abdomen "mustache-striped" meowed loudly in search of treats. And sometimes something fell over him..

Buyers were especially keen on carp. By the way, a kilogram of carp was estimated at 10 rubles. And next to it - just a rush demand for walnuts and hazelnuts, raspberries, strawberries, cranberries, blueberries ... People, having learned about very democratic prices, literally swept off the shelves of running goods.

On this gloomy autumn day, Anastasia Taras, deputy director of the Shchuchinsky District Center for Culture and Folk Art, managed to do a lot. The girl spoke heartfeltly from the main stage of the festival, and managed to buy all the necessary products. The girl says
- There comes a period of colds and viruses, so I, to be safe, bought at the agricultural fair all the preventive useful - a vitamin set. This is honey with propolis and perga, as well as sauerkraut, onions, garlic, oranges, lemons, sea buckthorn, cranberries and rosehip berries.

But Peter Serdyuk, a 73-year-old military pensioner from Shchuchin (retired guard major) brought home full bags of food and a whole set of seedlings. He admits:
- Since my youth, I love river fish. Therefore, he acquired a large amount of fresh carp and white Cupid. He also bought about a dozen species of tree seedlings - apple tree, pear, cherry, plum, apricot ... In addition, at a bargain price, I took cabbage, carrots, potatoes, honey and blueberries. Great day! A sea of emotions and an ocean of impressions.
People actively discussed this or that product exhibited at the agricultural fair in the center of Shchuchin, shared opinions, and also gave each other useful practical advice

Emotions beat over the edge and on “Schuchinskaya fishing”. To the encouraging cheers and stormy applause of the numerous public, the most courageous dived headlong into an impressive bath of water to catch large carp and carp. By the way, everything that managed to get out of the water, the lucky fishermen kept for themselves
One of the winners was the livestock breeder of OJSC "Vasilishki" Shchuchinsky district Peter Lapyan. In an interview with sb.by, the man did not hide his emotions:
- Today is a big festival, a feeling of a bright and beautiful holiday. Thank you for coming up with a lot of interesting locations, including this one. I'm a gambler. I decided to try my hand, and as a result I managed to catch a whole bag of fish. So I made a big deal!
A special feature of the fair “Schuchynski kirmash-2026” was the holding of an agricultural lottery. Whoever didn’t buy it won! By the way, the lottery aroused great interest, gathering 105 participants.
At the same time, the luckiest, having purchased a ticket for a purely symbolic fee of 3 rubles, went home not only with nets full of selected potatoes, cabbage, onions, carrots and buraks, but also with live goods - chicken and rooster.
Deputy Chairman of the Shchuchinsky District Executive Committee Tatiana Tyusina summarized the results of the agricultural fair:
- Despite the weather, the event was a hundred! It seems that today the entire 30 thousand Shchuchinsky district visited here. Only managed to say hello to friends, who, by the way, sincerely thanked the organizers of the fair and sale for the fact that in one place you could buy all the necessary products at competitive prices. In general, everyone benefited - both sellers and buyers. That is why the “Schuchynsky kirmash” was conceived.
