The traffic police is expanding the network of cameras for fixing the passage at a red light and other violations of traffic rules. This is reported in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, writes sb.by.

In order to improve road safety, the State Traffic Inspectorate actively uses the capabilities of the Republican Public Safety Monitoring System.

First of all, cameras are used to record serious traffic violations, including driving at a traffic light prohibiting signal. According to the agency, to date, about 2 thousand decisions have been made on such violations. Each intersection where violations are recorded is marked with an information plate. The number of such places will increase every month.

The traffic police reminded that the decree, or the so-called “letter of happiness”, is sent to the owner of the car. There may also be an SMS notification.

Other violations in the field of road safety are recorded automatically, which contributes to more effective control and prevention.
