Geomagnetic overload: scientists warn of continued magnetic storms on October 11
On Sunday, October 11, new dense clouds of solar plasma, ejected by the Sun in the second half of the week, will approach the planet

For residents of Novosibirsk, the geomagnetic situation will begin to deteriorate significantly from noon. From about 12:00 to 15:00, the geomagnetic activity index Kp will jump to 5-6 points, which is officially classified as a full-fledged medium-intensity storm. During this period, slight fluctuations in the operation of sensitive electronics, high-precision navigation systems and communication devices in high latitudes are possible.
After 18:00 and closer to night, the geomagnetic pressure will begin to gradually weaken, but the Earth's magnetosphere will remain in an excited and unstable state until the beginning of the next working week.
There is a high probability of bright auroras, which, with a clear night sky, can be seen including at the latitude of the Novosibirsk region.
Doctors and specialists of the Space Weather Forecasting Center advise weather-dependent Novosibirsk residents to spend this Sunday as calm as possible. Fluctuations in the magnetic field are often associated with headaches, migraine attacks, sharp jumps in blood pressure and increased fatigue.
To minimize the impact of the storm on the body, doctors recommend reducing the level of physical and emotional stress, giving up excess cups of coffee, maintaining water balance and strictly follow the schedule of taking planned medications, without succumbing to unnecessary anxiety.
Earlier, MK in Novosibirsk reported when to expect the first snow.
