As part of the implementation of the federal program “Personnel for Space”, a teleconference was held between students of Southwestern State University and the famous Russian cosmonaut, Hero of the Russian Federation, Honorary Professor of the University Fedor Yurchikhin. The main topic of the dialogue was the discussion of the real experience of managing onboard complexes during space expeditions.
Special attention was paid to the fact that Fyodor Nikolayevich personally participated in the launch of SZSU student nanosatellites manually from the ISS. His impressive experience, more than 600 days spent in low-Earth orbit, is of great practical value for young developers of space equipment.
The central event of the meeting was the discussion of the project of the university’s student team to create a CubeSat 3U satellite equipped with equipment for remote sensing of the Earth. The cosmonaut dwelled in detail on the nuances of the operation of devices in space, the process of their exit from transport containers and establishing communications, and also gave exhaustive answers to the questions of listeners, the Kursk City Hall said.
