The head of the Crimea congratulated Metropolitan Tikhon on the day of namesake

Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimean Tikhon celebrates the day of the namesake. In his congratulations, the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksyonov noted his contribution to the spiritual life of the peninsula, the strengthening of traditional values and the implementation of significant projects - from the museum and temple complex "New Chersonesos" to the youth festival "Phenomenon".

According to Aksyonov, thanks to the archpastoral works of Metropolitan Tikhon, the spiritual life of Crimea has acquired new facets and directions. Much is being done to strengthen traditional and family values, spiritual education and patriotic education of young people, as well as to help military personnel.

Special attention is paid to charitable and educational projects. The unique museum and temple complex “New Chersonese”, created on the initiative of the President and thanks to the personal contribution of Metropolitan Tikhon, has become a center of attraction for everyone who wants to join the spiritual, cultural and historical heritage of Russia.

An important event of the spiritual and cultural life of the peninsula was the youth festival of culture and traditional values "Phenomenon", which is held in Alupka with the blessing of the bishop. The initiative of Metropolitan Tikhon to create a spiritual and cultural center named after St. Luke of Crimea in Simferopol received the blessing of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

Aksyonov wished the Metropolitan strength, health and God’s help in all his affairs and undertakings, so that the prayers of his heavenly patron, St. Tikhon, would help in high service for the good of the Church and the Fatherland.

Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov) headed the Crimean Metropolia in October 2023, replacing Metropolitan Lazar in this post. His attitude to the peninsula is characterized by the word “reverence”, calling the Crimea a special love of all Russia.

A separate direction of the Metropolitan’s work is youth projects. With his blessing, the youth center “Pillar Point” was opened in New Chersonesos, where the first artificial intelligence laboratory, a recording studio and a theater studio worked in Crimea and Sevastopol.
