To date, 30 percent of all registered crimes in Belarus are crimes in the field of information and communication technologies, while the total number of crimes has been declining for several years in a row. This was stated to journalists by the Prosecutor General of Belarus Dmitry Gora today, October 7, before a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, at which parliamentarians will hear information from the Prosecutor General on the results of their activities, sb.by correspondent reports.

The annual informing of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic is an opportunity to bring to the people's representatives the issues of the criminal situation, the state of law in our country in various spheres, the issues of the work of prosecutors to maintain law and order in the country, Dmitry Gora explained:
- There is a positive trend: these are issues of reducing crime. According to the results of 2025, we have 13 percent fewer registered crimes, for 8 months of this year, a decrease of another 8 percent.
These are positives. There are also issues to work on, the Attorney General added:
- Countering cybercrime: Today, 30 percent of all reported crimes are crimes in the field of information and communication technologies. Here we need to discuss prevention and new methods of counteraction.
At the same time, the prosecutor’s office deals not only with the issues of supervision of pre-trial proceedings or maintaining charges in courts, Dmitry Gora noted:
- We have a wide range of so-called general supervision issues. As part of general supervision, we pay special attention to the welfare and ensuring the rights of minors, economic security issues, environmental safety aspects, and many other areas of activity. All this will be reported to the elected representatives today. I am sure that the information received will be used both in law-making activities and in other areas of work of our deputy corps.
